About me

I have always had a fascination with the mystical, magical and mysterious.  Images and emotions gathered from stories, pictures, movies and music are my greatest source of inspiration.  To visually recreate those sensations somehow through colour and texture is my most inner passion.

The greatest form of expression, for me, is through my needlework and although I like to dabble in many different areas of textile art, I find I keep coming back to my three favourites…canvas work, crochet and dyeing yarns and threads.

My passion for exotic yarns, threads, and textiles emerged at the age of seven when I taught myself to crochet. Later, in my teenage years, I discovered needlepoint tapestry and then cross-stitch. Not content with commercial patterns I ventured into creating my own designs.

Over the years I have charted many designs in the form of kits and patterns and have also been commissioned by both Australian and overseas clients for one off pieces and photo to chart services.

In 2003 I completed my Diploma of Art - Studio Stitch/Textiles at Box Hill TAFE. Being involved in this course really stretched my imagination and taught me to think outside the square where creativity and designing are concerned.

I hope to continue exhibiting and undertaking more commissions as well as focusing on teaching creative canvas work, crochet and wool & thread dyeing.
